Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a couple things that will save you some trouble and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Tucker and the last thing you want is to discover is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Check Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers removed, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units cleared of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
- Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it operating at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to schedule your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 770-450-1539.
